"Operative Masonry" throughout the Summer!
While our Speculative Brothers are at refreshment…Masons work continues at Old Colony Lodge. Much has been accomplished this Spring:
New Water Main Installed
New Electrical through Lower Apartments
Studs and Blue Board Up
Rough Plumbing in the New Bath Room
Rough Plumbing in the Janitors Closet
Excavation outside for Walkways & Drainage
The BeeHive Committee is currently moving forward with doorways and stonework for the Temple. We hope to have much of this work done by the end of July. The project requires the input and coordination of multiple 'Craftsmen'. Thanks to Brothers Dave Margetts, Vito Marcella, Ken Morgan, Steve Tower, Lane Partridge, Kevin Bulman, Galen Hersey and everyone else who has given of themselves. Pictures will be forthcoming!
Over the Summer and into the Fall; your Brothers have made great strides in getting the Lodge back in shape! There are new closets for Eastern Star (including our new friends the members of Mayflower Chapter OES) and a new Bathroom is ready to be tiled next week. Walls are plastered, doors are up and all await a fresh coat of paint. The 'Lift' is on order and once that has arrived we will be pouring a floor to accept the base of the gear works. Outside; Dave Margetts and his team have completed the drainage work and the foundation for our stonewalls is ready to go. Please Thank Dave for all he's done…without Brothers like him we could never ever take on such great challenges. Thank you too; Bro. Kevin Bulman, who has been our foreman throughout the Summer months.
I would imagine that the stonework will be completed by mid-November? Hopefully we can get some work done in the back parking lot too? We'll see!
New pictures are posted (OCL - Photo's section) on the Wall and new dooorway. Grading of the front yard will be completed when you arrive at the December meeting. Paint and trim work should also be well underway for the holiday season. Thanks to Wor. Jamie and Bro. Ken Morgan for the great job on the new bathroon!
