It's never too late to join Freemasonry, the "Royal Craft" of enlightenment that builds character by teaching through ancient symbols and metaphors which are just as valid in this day and age as when Freemasonry as we know it was founded in 1717.
This photo shows the Most Worshipful Grand Master Richard J. Stewart presenting me with the Master Mason Rookie award at the GL June Quarterly in 2011. Grand Master Bro. Stewart seemed to take great delight in bestowing the award on this then 79-year-old "Rookie". As we all know, Freemasonry is not a religion, but can be spiritually transformative as it has been instrumental in leading me back to the belief in one God and to the religion in which I was raised. For this I am deeply grateful. I am also grateful for having found a group of brothers at Old Colony Lodge who all in their own way strive to practice the Masonic tenets of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. |
